African First Ladies attended the 10th Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary 2023, under the theme; “Together, we make a difference” in Mumbai, India from October 18-19.
During the opening session, First Lady Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo called on The Merck Foundation to assist Ghana in the training of more specialists in Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Anesthesiology to bridge the worrying gaps in specialist care within Ghana’s health care delivery. The request was immediately granted.
So far, Merck Foundation has partnered with The Rebecca Foundation to train more than 130 healthcare providers in 39 different disciplines.
The Merck Foundation has also partnered with the Rebecca Foundation, to produce The Because I Want to Be TV show, which seeks to empower adolescents to aspire to greatness.
We commend The Merck Foundation for this strategic partnership and for contributing immensely to health care delivery in various African countries.
